Annual Summer Concert 2015

Annual Summer Concert 2015

Our annual summer concert is a ‘not to be missed’ event, and each year it just gets better and better and this year was no exception.

We showcased all of the music we have been working on throughout the year and all of the pieces we are taking away with us on tour to play to the amazing people of South Africa. All of the music was well received by the audience.

Our programme was jam packed but we still had time for our extremely talented dancers to show us what they can do. It is fantastic that we have both Irish and Scottish style dancers to entertain our audiences in South Africa.

The evening was made even more special by a phone call to South Africa to hear all about what we would be up to when we visit the Hout Bay project. This only intensified the excitement from the orchestra members.

An AFO tradition that everyone looks forward to on their birthday is to stand on a chair while the whole orchestra play and sing Happy Birthday. On this occasion the lucky birthday boy was Ian Graham and he looked over the moon as the entire town hall joined in to celebrate.

To end the night off right was played Auld Lang Syne and were joined by the Tour Parents to sing along and encourage the audience to join in.

Overall it was an amazing night of music and fun, thoroughly enjoyed by all.
