After learning the very sad news that one of the wonderful people the orchestra met in Hout Bay during the tour of South Africa passed away, many members of the orchestra wanted to help his family at this time. Four of our senior girls organised a ceilidh in his honour. They felt a ceilidh was appropriate as Siya loved all things musical and thought this was the best to celebrate his life and remember him.
The ceilidh was sold out, and everyone attending enjoyed a night including live music, dancing, a raffle, a buffet and a slide your coin at the whiskey and sweeties!
Following the event we received messages from Siya’s family thanking us for our help and generosity.
A massive thanks to Niamh, Claire, Lucy and Emily for organising such a great event and raising money to help Siya’s family in this difficult time.
