REHEARSALS

See below for the rehearsal and performance list for the coming session. Please note that rehearsals will be either on Saturday at Kingcase Church Hall or Monday evenings – with Alistair McCulloch – at Council Chambers in Ayr Town Hall .

PERFORMANCES

Many of our performances involve small groups of players. It's really important that, when you receive a letter inviting you to play, you check and let Wallace know QUICKLY if you cannot play so that another player can be asked.

INSTRUMENT AND PERSONAL INSURANCE

On trips like Arran, Poppleton and Tours abroad, travel and medical insurance is covered by the Orchestra but it is important to remember that, at all times, insurance covering instruments and personal property is the responsibility of each individual player.

INNOVATION CONCERT

The reputation and standing of INNOVATION grows with every performance! Alistair leads the group in its next performance at the superb Tron Theatre in Glasgow on Sunday 31st August at 8pm . Tickets are available from the Tron Box Office 0141 552 4267.

BAG PACKING

Thanks to everyone who have pointed out that Tuesday 23rd December – our Bag packing Day at Morrison's in Ayr – is still a School day. This will be one of the busiest days of the year for the Store and a great opportunity for the Orchestra to raise funds. The Director of Education and individual Headteachers will be asked to allow some players to be excused to start at 12 noon – details about the day's activities will be sent in a separate letter.

NEW MEMBERS

As always as a new session starts some players leave as they start University and College and we open our doors to new members. If you know of anyone who would like to join our ranks please encourage them to come along to the 1st rehearsal on Saturday 16th August at Kingcase Church Hall – just bring a smile and a stand!

KILTS

Especially for our new members - we have a range of kilts and tartan skirts that have been given to the Orchestra and may suit some of our younger players. Please contact Mandy Stirling - 01292 286877.
